Mint + Leather

There was once a time when summer meant tanning on the beach, eating ice cream, drinking diet coke, and relaxing while enjoying no school, while rocking some new shorts, dresses, sandals, and sun glasses. So, you might ask, why this lesson is the summer esentials? Well, because I am slowly forgetting what these items are. The weather this "summer" has been terrible so far. I know it is only just the beginning of summer, techinically speaking, but if I see one more person post a picture of a beach on instagram (check mine out here for my daily looks and things I like) I am going to lose it. So in this fine weather we have been having, I have chosen to wear every maxi dress I own until the sun comes out to play again. Lucky for me, I really like maxi's...

Casual Sunday

After what seemed like months of rain (it was really only a week), Seattle finally recived some much needed sunshine! I had a busy weekend, and was beyond excited for the lazy Sunday to come around. I didn't even attempt to dress up. I grabbed by favorite boyfriend shorts, and baggy shirt and called it good. Sometimes, dressing down is just as fashionable as dressing to impress. I may not be breaking any fashion rules, or carving my path in uncharted fashion territories, but I was comfortable on a warm, lazy Sunday.

Sun Glasses 101 {Summer 2012}

Currently Craving: Lets face it, cat eye sun glasses are quite literally taking over. I am seeing them everywhere, and I do mean everywhere. Which is quite okay by me, actually. Usually I am not one to jump on a trend this quickly, especially when it is sun glasses. But this trend has me so excited, I just can't help it.

Currently Crashing: Aviators definitely took their turn in the spot light, but recently they are slipping down in the ranks of fame and finding themselves in the shadows. Don't get me wrong, aviators are great if you still love them. But be aware, they are definitely on the outs, I suggest trying something new this summer!

Currently Cut-off: Bug eye sun glasses. If you are still wearing these, you need to take a deep breath and throw them away. It will be okay, I promise, there are better sun glasses out there. There was once a time when everyone was wearing these large and in charge (of your face) glasses, but looking like a  bug and hiding your entire face is no longer fashionable, and I, for one, am very happy about that.

{Currently Craving} 5 Trends To Love This Season

Neon makes me so excited. I love neon in the spring and summer months when the sun is out. It is so bright, and bold and adds so much excitement to any outfit. Plus, in these months where we are all getting tan, neon looks even better on!

Polkadots are a classic look that I don't think ever really goes out of style. The look of polkadots is just darling to me. It really classes up any outfit and adds instant youth and fun to any garment. I don't know if I will ever not love polkadots.
Mint is technically under the realm of pastel, but I think it deserves its own category. I am so in love with this color lately, Essie makes the perfect nail polish color, as does J Brand and J Crew for some fun colored denim. Although I didn't incude of a whole section on peplum, I am always looking for a good peplum skirt or top. So, this mint skirt with peplum detailing is gorgeous.
When I think fringe, I think Indian princess, bohemian, feathers, and turquoise. All of which I love, so I can't really find anything wrong witht his trend. I love these turquoise sandals with the extra fringe. The color is stunning and the fringe gives them a total boho chic feel.
Pastels are hot, hot, HOT this year. Everywhere I go I see pastel pants. I am definitely on this trends bandwagon. I just recently purchased a few pairs of pastel pants and am so in love. I wasn't as much into colored pants before the pastel trend hit, but pastel is so easy to wear and now I am obsessed.
