{Three Ways to Wear: A Denim Jacket }

A denim jacket can be worn in just about every outfit. It can dress something down or jazz it up. Either way, a good denim jacket is a great statement piece for this fall and winter. Here are some of the ways I am looking forward to wearing my denim jacket.
Were you worried that those colorful pants you bought for the spring and summer were going to collect dust over the next few months? Don't you worry, they will do no such thing. Who says you can't bring them into the fall and winter? It is the way you pair the color that makes it cooler weather ready. I love the play with preppy and hipster in this outfit. A nice pair of bright pants, a sweater and a denim jacket scream prepster, but the combat boots add such a rough edge, perfect for the winter.

I am such a sucker for polka dots. This adorable J Crew skirt with a simple mustard yellow sweater tucked in make my knees go weak. Not to mention the riding boots, and I am sold. I personally think the denim jacket adds so much to this outfit. It pulls the whole thing together. Oh, layering, how I love you.
This last outfit was actually inspired by something I saw someone wearing in a British tabloid that I found randomly sitting on a treadmill at my gym. Weird, I know, but true. I loved the look of wearing a leather skirt castually into the colder months by layering. And in case you are drooling over the ankle booties like I have been for the last few hours, they are from Zara, and they are perfect. Again, the denim really helps make the leather more casual and all around pulled together. Is there anything better than a denim jacket, though?

Currently Craving {Shoe Crush}

I need to vent about a serious problem. Zara has me seriously head over heels lately. Their sandals this season have had me drooling. Here are my favorites...

These basic, strappy heels are to die for. I love all the colors, they are so fun for spring time. Also really craving these...

And in case you haven't heard, you can now shop Zara online. Thank God.

Spring Fashion {Easter Outfits}

I can't believe Easter is almost here, Spring has finally sprung, and I love all the colors coming this season. I know I always have to dress up on Easter for brunch or a family event. This year my theme is definitely going to involve pastels. Here are some fun idea on how to mix and match pastels depending on how fancy you have to look on Easter Sunday. If you don't do anything on Easter, these outfits are still great for the Spring time.

Maxi skirts are one of my favorite trends. I kind of feel like I am wearing a ball gown because of the length, but the feel is so light and comfortable. Pairing this coral skirt with a simple white shirt and a denim jacket keeps it casual. Adding the bright yellow necklace really adds a pop of extra color on top.
These wide leg trousers are such a gorgeous color. I love me a good wide leg pant, unfortunately they are hard to find for me, but my hunt will continue until I eventually find a perfect pair. I would tuck in the tank top, add lots of bracelets, big sunglasses and a bold necklace to accessorize perfectly. These Zara heels are some of my all time favorites from the store. I love, love, love the double buckle and thicker heel. Perfection.

This last look is the most dressy. I imagine this is similar to what I will be wearing on Easter. The pastel pink lace dress is so classic and lady like, I am obsessed. I chose some strappy heels to give it a move springy, sassy feel. I added a belt, which could really dress it down a bit if the dress alone is too much. The necklace is absolutely gorgeous, I wish I could have it, like, right now. And if it is still not quite warm out where you live, a navy blazer would be a perfect jacket. I think less accessories is more in this situation, depending on what look you are going for.

{Currently Craving: Spring Collection}

The past couple of days have been the most beautiful spring days here in Seattle. Even though we still have a couple more months a rain and gloom before spring really sets in, these sunny days remind me how much I love spring clothes (they also remind me why I live in this rainy city). Winter layering is fun and all, but I am kind of over it. Thinking about spring shopping makes me crave so many unattainable items it is actually quite depressing. Forunately, there is the internet, so I can day dream about my cravings.
leather in the new black

I'll be the first to admit I am a chambray whore. Not that I am ashamed, there are much worse things to be obsessed with in the world of fashion, really. I really do think it goes with everything. Especially in the spring/summer months when that little something extra either keeps your warm or adds that extra something to the outfit. This chambray creates the perfect contrast from the masculine leather shorts.

a new kind of print

This outfit might just be my favorite of the bunch, but that may vary depending on my mood. I am so in love with these pants it is not even funny. Not to mention the belt options. Yes, plural. I literally could not decide which belt I would like better with this, so I chose both. Simply to show that each looks fabulous. I love the neon because it is so bright, bold and different from the pants. But I love anything leopard as well. Tucking in this cream blouse only in the front, to show off the belt would be my move. As for those ankle booties from zara...holy cow. I. Want. Now.

Spring me to life

The whole uneven hem thing has really grown on me. I think it really depends on how you pair the dress and/or skirt, and what material it is. Again, leopard print, so obviously I love it. Add some arm flare and we are in business.

spring into action

Give me some rolled up boyfriend jeans and that sweater and I will seriously be one happy camper. Not to mention  that collar of perfection. I love that the collar goes so perfectly with the colors of the sweater, but adds so much. Anyone else obsessed with this J Crew bag? They have it in blue as well, and I can't decide which one to plurge on.  Happy spring shopping, ladies!

{i can't contain my excitement: zara online ordering}

Okay, lets just start off by stating the obvious fact that I am beyond obsessed with Zara.
I was introduced to the store by my lovely ex-roomie in New York a couple of years ago, and lets just say it was love at first sight. I shopped there consistantly and probably neurotically for the summer I lived in NY. Then I came home...and it has been serious withdrawls ever since due to lack of stores in Washington and no online ordering.
BUT, fear not, because I have the best news since I heard Spice Girls were having a reunion tour...
You can now order Zara online in the US!! Well,  starting September 7th you can.
I don't really know if I can fully show my excitement and pure happiness through words, but let me tell you I did a happy dance for about 5 minutes straight (on the sidewalk) when I found out.
In anticipation for this miraculous event, which may be better than xmas morning for me, I have selected some of the items I know I will be ordering ASAP when September 7th finally rolls around.

It was really hard to pick only a few of my favorites, there are so many things I will be getting. I suggest everyone take a look here, and start planning their orders :) Enjoy!
