Orange and Denim

Happy Wednesday everyone! I am back again in chambray, I know, I am such a repeat offender. But in my defense, these outfits were a couple of days apart, and I know you guys are guilty of the same offense. I figure, if I love it, I might as well rock it. Also, please excuse the huge burn mark on my arm, I had a run in with the curling iron, ouch.

{Three Ways to Wear: A Denim Jacket }

A denim jacket can be worn in just about every outfit. It can dress something down or jazz it up. Either way, a good denim jacket is a great statement piece for this fall and winter. Here are some of the ways I am looking forward to wearing my denim jacket.
Were you worried that those colorful pants you bought for the spring and summer were going to collect dust over the next few months? Don't you worry, they will do no such thing. Who says you can't bring them into the fall and winter? It is the way you pair the color that makes it cooler weather ready. I love the play with preppy and hipster in this outfit. A nice pair of bright pants, a sweater and a denim jacket scream prepster, but the combat boots add such a rough edge, perfect for the winter.

I am such a sucker for polka dots. This adorable J Crew skirt with a simple mustard yellow sweater tucked in make my knees go weak. Not to mention the riding boots, and I am sold. I personally think the denim jacket adds so much to this outfit. It pulls the whole thing together. Oh, layering, how I love you.
This last outfit was actually inspired by something I saw someone wearing in a British tabloid that I found randomly sitting on a treadmill at my gym. Weird, I know, but true. I loved the look of wearing a leather skirt castually into the colder months by layering. And in case you are drooling over the ankle booties like I have been for the last few hours, they are from Zara, and they are perfect. Again, the denim really helps make the leather more casual and all around pulled together. Is there anything better than a denim jacket, though?

Summer Stripes

Hello, stripes. you are my newest obsession. And you, my navy blue striped maxi skirt, are treating me well. I don't know about you, but this summer has been all about the more notical look. I feel like the more preppy look is "in" more than ever in my neck of the woods. I mean, it is always around, because preppy is classic, but lately I have seen more and more west coast boys dressed to impress, and I am liking what I see. This skirt is perfect for a cooler summer day, with a nice cotton button down tied up to be a little bit more flirty, this skirt can do no wrong.

Dress to Impress

 Sometimes I like to dress up for no reason, it is kind of like when you are little and want to play in your mother's closet. Trying on her high heels and wobbling around the house because you feel so glamorous. Well, dressing up is still fun in that way for me, it channels my inner child-diva, and I feel so glam, which makes any day a little better. I don't remember exactly who said that looking your best even on your worst day will make you feel better,  but whoever it was that said that had it right. You don't need an excuse to look a bit more fabulously fancy, ever.

Storm Cloud Orange

{Shoes: Crown Vintage}{Skirt: Forever 21}{Clutch: J Crew}{Skirt: H&M}
In my personal opinion, orange and leopard make a great couple. They seem to compliment each other quite nicely. As my apparent obsession with leopard grows, my fondness of the color orange is pretty much at a stand still. I can't say I love the color, because, in fact, I think it is probably one of the most hidious colors avaiable (sorry if I am offending anyeone who might be particularly partial to orange). Maybe it is that it doesn't look so great on me, or maybe it is that it is really hard to find a good orange color, but whatever the reason, this skirt is the one orange piece of clothing I own...and I love it. Although, I don't know how protective againts the rain it would have been if those dark clouds in the back had moved in faster.

Orange Crush

{Shorts: Jcrew}{Shirt: Old H&M Mens wear}{Shoes: Urban Outfitters}
Although I kind of feel like my shorts resemble a table cloth that my grandmother might own, I really, really, love them. I have a new found crush on orange. It is so bright and festive for the season. What I love about these shorts, other than the table cloth look, is that they are so versatile. Seriously, they are! I dressed them down here, with tennis shoes and a white button up, but add some wedges, a white blouse and you can wear there out on the town this summer.

pink + white

{Shoes: Target} {Clutch: Gucci} {Shirt: J Crew} {Vest: Old Navy} {Pants: H&m} {Watch: Invicta}

Lets just talk about how much I am in love with this J Crew button down. Again, it's pink, and we know how my love for pink has grown so much recently. Anyways, this outfit was perfect for the weather conditions, it was sunny and warm, but too windy for a skirt. White pants and this pastel pink button down did just the trick. I felt a little too light on the color palette, so I added the green vest. throw on a clutch and some flats, and bing bang boom, there you have it. A perfect spring outfit!

Spring Prep

{Skirt: Forever 21}{Shirt: J Crew}{Shoes: Urban Outfitters}{Watch: Invicta}{Necklace: Forever21}
This might be one of the more preppy outfits I have ever put together. Somehow, though, I seem to be getting more and more preppy in my personal style. I try to switch it up regularly and not define my style by a type. I wear what I like, but what I like seems to be J Crew. I loved every single thing about this outfit, especially the white tennis shoes. I feel like they really gave the outfit a completely different feel. So as if the outfit wasn't preppy enough, add the shoes, and now it definitely is. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
