6 ways to Wear Chambray

Chambray is nothing new, in fact, it has been around for quite some time. But recently I have been even more obsessed with my chambray shirt. The possibilities for this sucker are endless. It is what the denim jacket was the the 90's, easy, practical, fashionable, and versatile. Here are my six favorite ways to rock a chambray like a pro. Rihanna has is going on, the denim on denim look is already cute, but the fact that her denim jeans are all kinds of fun makes the look more bold. Craving those pants badly. Alessandra is obviously a goddess and probably could make a paper bag look chic and cool, I love that her chambray is more of an over sized dress feel, belted to give her some shape. As for Ashley, I mean, she can do no wrong, but her simple and elegant look of chambray with black skinny denim makes me wonder why I can't seem to pull off something so simple quite that well. Okay, Brooklyn, I get it, you are stunning, and you have good taste. Is there anything better than chambray and sequins? No, it's like champagne and berries, a perfect mix of textures. Rachel has such a casual, laid back look with the tied chambray shirt and a simple skirt, somehow she adds such a cool factor to this simplicity as well. And last, but not least, is Kristen Bell, in chambray and floral denim, which I am in love with as well. Perfect for a daytime.

{Currently Craving: Spring Collection}

The past couple of days have been the most beautiful spring days here in Seattle. Even though we still have a couple more months a rain and gloom before spring really sets in, these sunny days remind me how much I love spring clothes (they also remind me why I live in this rainy city). Winter layering is fun and all, but I am kind of over it. Thinking about spring shopping makes me crave so many unattainable items it is actually quite depressing. Forunately, there is the internet, so I can day dream about my cravings.
leather in the new black

I'll be the first to admit I am a chambray whore. Not that I am ashamed, there are much worse things to be obsessed with in the world of fashion, really. I really do think it goes with everything. Especially in the spring/summer months when that little something extra either keeps your warm or adds that extra something to the outfit. This chambray creates the perfect contrast from the masculine leather shorts.

a new kind of print

This outfit might just be my favorite of the bunch, but that may vary depending on my mood. I am so in love with these pants it is not even funny. Not to mention the belt options. Yes, plural. I literally could not decide which belt I would like better with this, so I chose both. Simply to show that each looks fabulous. I love the neon because it is so bright, bold and different from the pants. But I love anything leopard as well. Tucking in this cream blouse only in the front, to show off the belt would be my move. As for those ankle booties from zara...holy cow. I. Want. Now.

Spring me to life

The whole uneven hem thing has really grown on me. I think it really depends on how you pair the dress and/or skirt, and what material it is. Again, leopard print, so obviously I love it. Add some arm flare and we are in business.

spring into action

Give me some rolled up boyfriend jeans and that sweater and I will seriously be one happy camper. Not to mention  that collar of perfection. I love that the collar goes so perfectly with the colors of the sweater, but adds so much. Anyone else obsessed with this J Crew bag? They have it in blue as well, and I can't decide which one to plurge on.  Happy spring shopping, ladies!

{Sequin Me Crazy}

Alright, the holiday season is offically upon us! I knew it's not December...yet! But, seriously, people holiday parties are right around the corner. Like, I hear them knocking already. So in the spirit of sparkling lights, pretty colors and fun festivities, I think sequins are just fabulous. My obsession with them started around the age of 7. I refused to wear anything that wasn't "pretty" aka super girly, sparkly and preferably with unicorns on them (I was 7, okay?!). Here are some holiday outfits inspired by everything glittery!

This fabulous dress from TopShop is not only a beautiful colorful disco ball, but holy crap does it remind anyone else of Barbie?! Maybe not. Anyways, I envisioned wearing my hair up with this lovely frock, so simgle "diamond" studs won't take away from the colorful sequin dress. The black pumps are also from TopShop, and I love, love, really love the strap. Because it is pretty darn cold where I live, black tights are kind of a good idea...if you feel like it.

Okay, so this gorgeous dress is, again, from TopShop. It reminds me of winter because of the silver sequins, and light skirt. A lot of shoe options would would with this, but I chose these light pink Steve Madden pumps with a little bedazzle-ness on the heel...HOT. To kind of throw off the angelic look of the whole thing, but not take away from the attention whore sequins, the edgy studs are perfect. Some simple gold bangles and a multicolor clutch perfects the outfit.

This dress might just be my favorite of the bunch. But, then again, I love them all, so its hard to tell. My love for sequins is obvious, but my love for royal blue is something of a long time love affair as well. So this dress is like my dream come true. My Cinderella gown, if you know what I mean. Pairing it with these Steve Madden wedges, instead of pumps was just a personal choice. But ankle bootis, pumps and wedges all work. The ring is to.die.for. So cute. And again, adds some edge to the look. The sequin clutch is Juicy and I just couldnt resist adding even more sparkle to this outfit. I just love it.

Which one is most like your style to rock at a holiday party? Sequins are an eye grabber, so if you want some extra attention (maybe from that special someone..) this year, pick up from sequins and glam it up!
